We have a passion for people, our community and our world. Our culture and leadership is characterized by worship, the love of God, and a genuine call to ministry. These core values have been shaped by our rich history of great co-workers and energy; always pressing forward in our call to love God and love others.
In November of 1971 I heard the call to ministry. No voice from the sky or anything like that, but I was allowed to baptize a young man. As I lay in bed that night I knew, I had to do this, I had to share Jesus with people and help them come to know Him as their Savior. And since then, all I've ever wanted was to be His faithful servant, and to hear Jesus say some day, "Well done, good and faithful servant, well, done." And that's all the reward I'll ever need.
Herman has been with Fletcher Christian Church for 14 years. His primary role is to teach the Junior High, Senior High, and young adults. Herman's desire is to help people discover, learn, and grow their relationships with God so they can go out and help others do the same.
To me, children's ministry is about furthering God's kingdom. Our church has a rich history of people who have invested time, love and effort into the lives of children and it is important to continue that legacy. I love Jesus and I want our kids to love Jesus:). My hope is that because of that love for him they will do something. I want them to be Christ followers, to live out what they learn and to share it with everyone they come in contact with.
“But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Luke 18:16 NIV
“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”
Proverbs 22:6 NIV
